AI Comments on Facebook: New Feature April 2024

Some of you may have noticed the newest Facebook app feature: the ability to leave comments using AI!

This is a great advancement for accessibility, but I'm not sure if it will help grow Facebook groups in an authentic way if everyone (or even a lot of people) are just responding with AI. I'd love to know your thoughts in the comments or over in my group.

This feature is still rolling out so I expect, if all goes well, everyone will have access in April 2024. If you see the little button that I have circled in pink above, you have the ability to use AI in your Facebook comments.

Note this is only available on the app so far; I'm not sure when or if it will roll out on desktop but I will update this post if/when it does.

When you're commenting on a Facebook post, you will be able to choose the tone you want, and you can click “show more” if you want more options.

So far I've seen:

• inspirational
• casual
• heartfelt
• supportive
• insightful

We know, based on the comments we see every day on FB, that people will still have to use their own words if they want to be sarcastic, condescending, and rude. LOL

Benefits for Group Owners

For group owners, especially if you run a large, active group, AI comments will save you a ton of time and energy. I already have canned responses to my most FAQs, but being able to use AI to leave inspiring, insightful, helpful comments seems like a good thing.

I don't want all of my comments to be AI, but when it comes to growing your Facebook group organically, at some point you do have to scale and it's difficult to scale without having to work more. I'm all about working less and making more money, so I'm going to try this AI comment feature out and let you know how it goes. 🙂

What's Next?

If you've tried out the AI comment feature, let me know how you like it! I do like that it sounds like a human wrote it, and I also like that this will be great for accessibility. I don't like that conversations MAY become less authentic.

What I love about my Facebook groups is that we get real human connection, ya know? But, everything's changing! I can't be stuck in the past. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
