Advanced AI Prompts for Creating a Digital Planner

Hey, friends! I'm doing a series of advanced AI prompts so you can get a taste of what's inside AI Launch Magic (which is always growing!). I hope you love them.

Leave a comment or reply to any of my emails if you have requests! I love building these prompts out, testing them, and then improving them until they're AMAZING for you.

To use this prompt, you just need to fill in the [text that is in brackets]. If you aren't sure what the text should be, ask your AI tool of choice for advice. My favorite AI tool for blogging is RightBlogger, but for brainstorming and advanced prompts like this, I love(!) Claude.

AI Prompt for Creating a Planner

Here is an example of the beginning of the output Claude gave me when I used this prompt. This output was VERY LONG and detailed. I didn't even fill in any of the brackets of text, I just said my audience was female entrepeneurs.

Obviously you'll want to drill down and get more specific, but I was blown away at how amazing this output was after I made a few tweaks to the prompt.

You can copy and paste this prompt as is, but you can also ask your AI buddy if there's any way to improve the prompt for your audience!

“Create a comprehensive outline for a 200-page digital planner targeted at [specific audience, e.g., ‘female entrepreneurs'].

Include:

A unique selling proposition that differentiates this planner from competitors on Amazon KDP

10 distinctive features that solve common [audience] pain points

Detailed structure for:

Monthly overview pages (list exact sections)

Weekly planning spreads (list all components)

Daily pages (include unique productivity elements)

Goal-setting frameworks

Habit tracking systems

[Audience-specific] progress metrics

15 motivational quotes focused on [specific theme]

5 monthly reflection prompts

3 unique tracking systems for [audience-specific goals]

A title that includes keywords: [your keywords]

Format this as a detailed outline I can use to create the planner. For each section, include specific instructions about layout and design elements. Focus on features that [target audience] specifically needs for [main goal].”

Additions for Digital Calendars

The above prompt is thorough and will get you off to the races when it comes to using AI to create a planner outline. But, you'll also need some design help! Here are some design prompts for your planner.

These prompts will partially depend on the AI you're using. Some AIs do text *and* images, while others just do one or the other.

Outlining Planner

“Specify color palette and overall visual theme that resonates with [target audience]”

“Include design elements that reflect [audience] branding needs (e.g., space for their own business logos/branding)”

“Add supplementary worksheets for [specific industry challenges]”

Designing Planner

While designing your planner, you will want to keep your design elements minimal (unless you're creating a maximalist planner!), both to keep the look clean, and also to save on ink if they're printing these planner pages.

color palettes for digital planner as well as typography and textures/elements

Claude gave me 3 different ideas for brand color palettes as well as several typography options. I kind of mashed them all together and also included some elements Claude suggested for textures and elements.

Remember: AI isn't here to completely replace you; it's here to do the parts we don't want to do! For me, that's figuring out colors, fonts, etc. I want to really dig into the crafting of the planner, you know?

Prompt for cover design:

“Minimalist professional planner cover, [color palette], abstract geometric shapes, luxury planner aesthetic, clean lines, modern design, highly detailed, trending on Creative Market –ar 2:3”

(NOTE: –ar 2:3 works in Midjourney and will create an image that is a 2:3 ratio. If your planner is a different ratio, change it.)

Prompt for monthly dividers:

“Abstract watercolor splash in [brand colors], ethereal, professional, minimal text space, elegant composition, perfect for planner divider –ar 16:9”

Prompt for section headers:

“Simple line art icons, [specific theme] style, continuous line drawing, minimal, modern, professional, black and white –ar 1:1″

Prompt for corner decorations:

“Delicate geometric corner design, [style] inspired, filigree pattern, subtle, professional, transparent background –ar 1:1”

Putting it all together

After you've worked with your AI buddy to outline and create your pages, you get to decide if you want to put it together in Google Docs, Canva, or another program. I love to use Google Docs the most because it's so easy to copy and paste, and then format.

However, Canva planners are usually much prettier, and if you're going to make an actual hyperlinked ditial planner, you will want to use Canva or another program like PDF-linkr to put it all together.
